Hi I’m Eddie and I’ve only posted on here a couple of times, (I’ve worked the whole 60-day version on a cell phone with a 3 1/2 inch screen, kind of hard to type on that thing, lol) but I like the video for today. I know I’m going to finish strong, I haven’t put in this much work, to just stop now. I currently have 125 days sober. I found this book through a series of synchronicities a little after the 60 day mark, and although I was doing well with it before then, book launched me to a point that might have taken much longer without it. I don’t really fit in with most of the crowd in the forums, but that’s OK with me. I have learned that being “different” is a strength of mine that I always thought of a weakness. I was a low bottom drunk, way low bottom. I drank from waking up until passing out every day for the last 5 years with a couple of breaks in there at VA hospital treatment programs. I went through being homeless, yeah I was “that” guy on the corner with a sign. Had to, or go through withdrawals. I lived in a tent in the woods for 8 months. Lost everything and I do mean everything. I’ve been trying to get sober since I was 21 (I’m 54 now) and this is the longest I’ve ever made it. The book is great it’s a tool I am using for life. I appreciate Jack and Dave, Chelsea, and everyone involved with the writing and publication of this awesome book. One thing I haven’t liked is seeing all of the complaining I see about the missing website content. That definitely isn’t showing any gratitude about what you do have. I wonder if some people are reading the same book I am. Anyway, I know if I can do this, anyone can. So, take the advice given given at the beginning of the book and quit complaining. It doesn’t look good on you, regardless of whether it’s “legitimate” or not. We’re doing this deal!!

What a great post, and a great attitude. You are obviously an intelligent and articulate guy, which is a reminder that anyone can end up with a drinking problem regardless of… well, regardless of anything.
I agree with you that Jack and Dave have created a unique and terrific resource here, and I will always be grateful for them and their wonderful work. My story is different than yours, but the theme is the same; years of drinking, multiple unsuccessful attempts to stop, and the result of the program for me is a renewed sense of purpose in a life of sobriety for 42 days.
I would agree with you that even though it may be easy to find fault about one thing or another in the program, we have to be careful when someone throws us a lifesaver not to complain about the color of the rope.
Congratulations to you and the others that have made it this far, and all the best to everyone that is still working at it, even if you have stumbled along the way. A great change is coming in your life!
