Day 10 Solution complete. Seven days AF.

Does anyone else on Day 10 notice themselves having more positive experiences?

Today, in a part of the city neither of us would normally find ourselves in, I bumped into an old college classmate I hadn’t seen in years. He was taking his young daughter to a birthday party. We recognised each others and, as we were walking the same way, chatted for a few minutes.

If this has happened more than a week ago, I would undoubtedly have been outside a few drinks by that time in the day. I would have been second guessing myself about whether I was coherent, smelling of booze, worthy of notice. I might have tried to avoid the encounter altogether.

As it was, today, I was sober. And happy to be so. I talked to him, and to his daughter, asking her about the party she was going to. I asked sensible questions. Gave honest replies. I felt good about myself. And almost felt as though this encounter had been sent my way to show me how far I have come in a week, and how worthwhile the journey is.

Your posts are right on. It’s like sometimes you are in my head. I had a similar experience and two weeks ago I would have avoided the whole situation altogether. I feel like I am following you! Stay strong and keep posting.

Thanks. I’m glad my posts strike a chord.

Well done on your progress so far. Keep working the solutions. Every day is an adventure.
